Full Professor at São Paulo State University (Unesp), Bachelor in Physics (1986) with Master (1989) and PhD (1994) in Applied Physics by the University of São Paulo. International experience during doctoral and post-doctoral studies in England, France and the United States. His research focuses on the characterisation of the soil CO2 emission and the greenhouse gas balance in agricultural areas. Participant of the Pre-Antarctic Training (TPA-SECIRM) and Operation Antarctica, 2008-2009. Coordinator of the FAPESP thematic project "Impact of management practices on soil CO2 emission in sugarcane production areas, Southern Brazil", 2009-2015. Member of the coordination of FAPESP Program on Climate Change from 2010-2018. Reviewer of scientific works and projects of UNEP (United Nations Environmental Program), DOE (Department of Energy) and IPCC (The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), United Nations. Currently a member of the Editorial Board of EDUNESP (Editora Unesp) and the leader of the CNPq research group, entitled "characterisation of diverse aspects of the soil CO2 emission in agricultural areas" (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
