The researcher has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1983), with a master's degree in Informatics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro - PUC / RJ (1987) - concentration area: Databases, PhD in Informatics also by PUC / RJ (1992) - concentration area: Programming and Theory of Computing, and post-doctorate by the "National Institute of Multimedia Education - NIME", Chiba-shi, Japan (2003-2004). He is currently a doctoral professor at Universidade Estadual Paulista "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" - UNESP, working in the area of Computing, with the Department of Mathematics. In terms of research projects, he initially worked on projects in the area of databases. He also participated in projects in the area of Operational Research - Combinatorial Optimization. In recent years, he has dedicated himself more to projects in the area of Education, with an emphasis on the use of new technologies in the teaching-learning process, focusing on the following themes: project-based learning, teaching methods and techniques, interdisciplinary projects, use of new technologies in education, educational robotics and web environments to support teaching.
