Graduated from the former Escola Paulista de Medicina, Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP-EPM). After a public tender, he was approved and is currently Assistant Researcher at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (LIM 58) at the Foundation of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (FMUSP). He specialized in Histology. To this end, he obtained a Master's degree in Histology from Escola Paulista de Medicina in 1979 and a Doctor's degree in Histology and Embryology in 1984 from the Histology Department of the ICB Biomedical Sciences Institute of the University of São Paulo (USP-SP). In 2001, after taking tests, he was approved in the Free Teaching Competition in Histology and Structural Biology at the Federal University of São Paulo. He was Full Professor of Histology and Structural Biology at the Department of Morphology and Genetics at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP-EPM), requiring retirement in 2022. At UNIFESP he was responsible for the Histology Discipline Program given to 1st year students of the Medical Course and to the students of the 1st year of the Nursing Course. He has a book published in 2013 together as Prof. Álvaro Glerean entitled - Fundamentals of Histology - For Students in the Health Area. He was an advisor professor in the Postgraduate Programs in Morphology and Obstetrics, collaborating and teaching Disciplines to students in the Morphology program at UNIFESP-EPM. He was a researcher I B at CAPES / CNPQ and leader of a research group in Reproduction Biology at UNIFESP. He was a Community Elected member for the University Council (CONSU) of UNIESP (2017-2022), as well as an Elected Community member for the Campus Council of Escola Paulista de Medicina (EPM-UNIFESP) (2017-2022). He has experience in Morphology, with emphasis on Histology, Developmental Biology and Cell Biology, working mainly on the following subjects: Matrix, Uterus, sex hormones, tamoxifen, raloxifene, aromatase inhibitors and biomarkers.
