Mateus Cecílio Gerolamo is an Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP). He graduated in Production Engineering in 2000 at the São Carlos School of Engineering (EESC-USP), where he completed his master (2003) and his PhD (2007) in Production Engineering on the topics of Improvement and Change Management, and Performance Management in Regional Cluster of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). Between 2006 and 2007 he did a doctorate exchange at the Berlin Institute of Technology (TUB), the same place where he had a postdoctoral experience between 2007 and 2008 in the field of sustainability. In 2019 he was promoted as an Associate Professor at USP. He has 20 years of experience in research, teaching and consulting projects. His current areas of interest involve Change Management, Organizational Culture, Leadership, Innovation, Industry 4.0, Digital Transformation and Engineering Education. He acted as coordinator of a SME cooperation network in a project financed by SEBRAE / FIESP (2005). He taught the disciplines of Production and Operations Management, and Quality Management for the Business Administration course (between 2003 and 2005). He carried out consulting projects in the areas of Quality Management and Production Management for SMEs. Between 2008 and 2010 he was a consultant in Supply Chain Management at Axia Value Chain (a company later acquired by Ernst & Young). Since 2010 he is Professor of the Department of Production Engineering at EESC-USP. He engages in pedagogical and administrative activities related to the São Carlos School of Engineering (USP) and its respective engineering courses. He also participates in social and outreach activities, coordinating student teams, such as EESC Jr, Enactus and Projeto Rondon (social project). He has published books in the areas of Quality Management and Project Management. He has also published several articles and he is a reviewer of national and international academic journals. He has a CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) professional certificate by APICS (The Association for Operations Management) and a CTT (Cultural Transformation Tools) certificate by Barrett Values Center.
