Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology in the Dentistry course at the Institute of Science and Technology ICT/UNESP-São José dos Campos and Researcher on Productivity at the National Counsel of Technological and Scientific Development/CNPq (PQ-1). Graduated in Dentistry (1998), Master in Oral Biopathology (2001) and PhD in Oral Biopathology (2003) at São Paulo State University/UNESP. Conducted a research internship at the Department of Infectious Diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital at Harvard Medical School in the United States (2010) and at the Department of Infectious Diseases at Rhode Island Hospital at Brown University in the United States (2014). Dr. Junqueira worked as Visiting Senior Professor at Brown University (USA) under the CAPES Chair Program (2016) and in the Microbiology and Infection Institute at the University of Birmingham (UK) under the CAPES-PRINT Program (2020). She was Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Oral Biopathology (2013-2016) and Coordinator of the Biohazard Committee (2007-2012) at ICT/UNESP. Currently, she is coordinator of the International Research Network ?Therapeutic, regenerative and restorative strategies for maintaining oral health? (CAPES/PRINT/UNESP), member of the Research Committee of ICT/UNESP and leader of the CNPq research group ?Models of experimental infection in invertebrates?. Coordinated 8 research projects funded by FAPESP (Regular Research Grants), coordinates an international research project funded by the Office of Naval Research Global (ONR/USA) and a Universal CNPq project. Participates grant reviewer to national and international research funding agencies, including FAPESP (Brazil), CNPq (Brazil), Narodowe Centrum Nauki (Poland), National Center for the Replacement, Refinement & Reduction of Animals in Research (United Kingdom) and Dutch Research Council (Netherlands). Dr. Junqueira published 18 book chapters and more than 130 articles in scientific journals, with approximately 1,500 citations and an H index equal to 25 in the Web of Science (Publons). Received more than 50 awards or honor in the scientific conferences. Participates as a member of the editorial board of Virulence (IF 4.77) and Journal of Fungi (IF 4.61) and as an ad hoc reviewer for Archives of Oral Biology, Brazilian Oral Research, Clinical Microbiology and Infection, Expert Review of Anti-Infective Therapy, Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, Frontiers in Microbiology, Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology, Mycoses, Mycoscience, Photodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy, Pathogens & Diseases, Plos One, SpringerPlus and Yeast. Dr. Junqueira supervised several graduate students and scientific initiation. Currently, she supervises 3 post-doctoral students, 5 doctoral students, 1 master's and 4 undergraduate students. Develops projects in partnership with several national and international institutions. Has experience in Dentistry, with emphasis on Microbiology and Immunology, acting on the following subjects: oral microbiology, probiotics, photodynamic therapy, pathogen-host interaction and experimental infection models.
