Renato Marcos Endrizzi Sabbatini

Bachelor of Biological Sciences, Medical Modality, at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo (1968) and PhD in Physiology by the same institution (1977). From 1977 to 1979 he was a visiting scientist and postdoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry (currently Neurobiology), in Munich, Germany. He was Assistant Professor 91972-1977) and Assistant Doctoral Professor (1977-1983) at the Physiology Department of the Ribeirão Preto Medical School at USP. He was also a collaborating professor in Psychology of the undergraduate Discipline of Psychobiology at the Faculty of Sciences and Letters of Ribeirão Preto, USP, and of the undergraduate Discipline of Physiology at the Nursing School of Ribeirão Preto at USP. From 1983 to 2003, when he retired, he was Assistant Doctoral Professor, and later,an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the State University of Campinas, first at the Department of Clinical Medicine and later at the Department of Medical Genetics. He was the founder and coordinator of the Nucleus of Biomedical Informatics and headed the Area of Medical Informatics and Biostatistics at the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Still at UNICAMP, he was a collaborating graduate professor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the Institute of Biology, and a graduate professor and researcher / advisor in Biomedical Informatics at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering (FEEC), by the Department of Biomedical Engineering. He was founder and president and researcher / professor of the Edumed Institute for Education in Medicine and Health between 2000 and 2010. Currently, since 2018 he is an adjunct professor of Health Informatics at the Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health (Salvador, BA), member of its Distance Education Center (NEAD) and its Telehealth Center. Postgraduate Professor of Medical Informatics since 2020 at the Brazilian Institute of Medical Sciences (MBA Course in Management and Innovation for Physicians), Postgraduate Professor of Health Informatics since 2019 at the Center for Studies in Nursing and Nutrition (Goiânia, GO ), professor of postgraduate studies in Health Information Systems at the Faculty of Health Sciences of São Paulo, coordinator and professor of the Digital Health Course at Faculdade UNIMED (Belo Horizonte, MG), since 2020. Founding Fellow of the International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics, of the International Association of Medical Informatics (IMIA). He was a founding member, president and director of Education and Professional Training of the Brazilian Society of Health Informatics (SBIS), founding member, vice-president and director of Education and Professional Training of the Health Level Seven Brasil Institute (2007-present), founding member and vice-president of the Association Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise IHE Brasil (2014-2018). He was a consultant for the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization in health informatics, as well as for CNPq and FAPESP. among others. He was director of medical informatics at the Brazilian Medical Association (AMB - 1996 to 2000). He has research, development and innovation experience in Physiology, with an emphasis on Physiology of Organs and Systems (Nervous System), working mainly on the following themes: experimental epilepsy, animal behavior, neuroethology, brain and neurophysiology of behavior. He is also a specialist in biomedical and health informatics, distance education, telemedicine and telehealth, electronic publications and applications of networks, satellites and internet in health and education, impacts of radio frequency electromagnetic fields on human health.
