Architect, Urban Planner and Landscape Architect, is Professor at the Department of Design, Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo, SP, Brazil. Develops studios in landscape planning and design for undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Leads the research group LAB-Verde/ CNPq, whereby already formed several masters and doctors under his guidance. He was one of the creators of the LABVERDE, a laboratory facing the development of cutting-edge research in the proposition, measurement and evaluation of the performance of landscape architecture projects that help in treatment of urban water, cultivation of the urban forest, climate control, reclamation of degraded areas, mobility and public health and safety, in addition to treating the symbolic dimensions of landscapes. His professional experience also includes the development of various pro bono projects and consultancies in the fields of landscape architecture, stormwater management, urban ecology, urban revitalization, parks and public squares, always from the perspective that landscapes are not only extensive material artifacts, but complex systems analogous to living organisms, exhibiting many of the same characteristics. Participates in the emerging vision of designing new landscapes based on innovative infrastructure systems adapted to flows and urban metabolisms, combining urban morphological and ecological systems, making them strategic for greater resilience of our cities.
