Prof Elvis Terci Valera holds a Medical Degree from the University of São Paulo (1995), a Medical Residency in Childcare and Pediatrics (1995-1996), a Medical Residency in Pediatric Oncology and Hematology (1998-1999), a Masters degree in Child and Adolescent Health from the University of São Paulo (2003), and a Ph.D. in Medicine from the Childcare and Pediatrics Program at the University of São Paulo (2006). He completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at McGill University, Montreal/Canada (2016-2017), and obtained the title of Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo in 2019. Prof. Valera is currently an Associate Professor at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School of the University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP), within the Department of Childcare and Pediatrics, since October 2023. He serves as a Graduate Program Faculty Member in the Department of Childcare and Pediatrics at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School - USP. He is the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Child and Adolescent Health (starting in April 2024) at FMRP-USP. He is the current Coordinator of the Department of Comprehensive Care for Children and Adolescents (DAICA) - HC Criança / HCFMRP-USP (starting in August 2024). Prof. Valera has experience in Pediatric Oncology and Hematology, with an emphasis on Pediatric Neuro-Oncology, Autologous Transplantation with hematopoietic stem cell rescue (TAMO), genetics of pediatric tumors and Precision Oncology. He is a Member of the Advisory Board of the Brazilian Society of Pediatric Oncology - SOBOPE. Prof. Valera currently serves as Coordinator of the Precision Medicine Committee of SOBOPE and as the Brazilian Delegate Representative of the Latin American Society of Pediatric Oncology (SLAOP).
