Prof. Aguiar is a dental graduate of Dentistry (1998), Master's degree in Dental Clinic (2000), a specialization in Dentistry (2002) and a PhD in Dental Clinic (2004) from the Piracicaba Dental School, University of Campinas . He was Associate Coordinator of Undergraduation (2011 - 2014), Coordinator of Specialization of Dentistry (2010 - 2014), Undergraduate Coordinator (2014 - 2018) and Vice-Dean (2018-2022). He is Associate Professor MS - 5.2, with experience in dentistry - operative dentistry, working mainly on the following topics: composite resin, photoactivation, adhesive systems, biomaterials, intraradicular retainers and restorative techniques. He coordinated the research project "Bio-Functionalization of surfaces for dentistry and medical applications" (2019 - 2022), by the Probal CAPES, in partnership with Prof. Dr. Shahram Ghanaati / Goethe-Universität Frankfurt Am Main. Coordinated other research projects with funding. It has partnered with Fraunhofer Institute-IFAM, Bremen - Germany since 2015. He is a reviewer for several national and international journals.
