Received a Google Latin America Research Award and is co-autor of the book Machine Learning (2018, Springer). Received his doctorate (2008) and master's (2004) degrees at the Universidade Federal de São Carlos. His research interests are Digital Signal Image and Video Processing and Machine Learning. He is currently developing research projects on deep learning, representations learning with applications in signal, image and video, as well as data quality for machine learning.
