Cláudio Mendes Pannuti received his dental degree at the University of São Paulo (Brazil) in 1993. He completed his periodontics training and Masters at the University of São Paulo in 1999, and received his PhD in Periodontics in 2001, at the same university. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of São Paulo, Brazil and Coordinator of the Post-Graduate Program of FOUSP. He is a member of the editorial board of BMC Oral Health and Brazilian Oral Research, and he is an Statistical Advisor of Clinical Oral Implants Research. He has experience in epidemiology, clinical trials and systematic reviews. His research interests include risk factors for periodontal and peri-implant disease, special patients and use of antibiotics and antiseptics in the treatment of periodontal and peri-implant disease. His current projects are "Effects of smoking cessation on periodontal and peri-implant tissues", "Interrelationship between cirrhosis and periodontitis" and "Efficacy of antibiotics and antiseptics in the treatment of periodontal diseases" (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
