Graduated in Philosophy from the State University of Campinas (1993), Isabella Tardin Cardoso completed a master's degree (2000) and doctorate (2005) in Classical Studies at the University of São Paulo, and postdoctoral studies in Classical Philology at the University of Heidelberg (Germany), with scholarship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (since 2006), from FAPESP (2008 and 2010) and senior internship from Capes (2015). Professor at the State University of Campinas, she defended her Livre-docência in 2018 and became cathedratic in Classical Studies in 2024. She was Extension Coordinator, Pos-Graduate Coordinator (2018-2019) at IEL, Coordinator of the Linguistics Graduate Program (score 7 Capes) (2017- 2021). She teaches Latin language and literature, with an interest in guidance mainly in the following subjects: oratory and ancient law, ancient Roman theater, Roman philosophy, Augustan poetry, Theory and History of Philology. She develops research projects on: Roman comedy, ancient legal discourse, law and literature, the topos of the Theatrum mundi in ancient Roman literature; Roman poetics; epistemology of Classical Philology (with the Theory of Philology/Theorie der Philologie project). She is a researcher (since 2001) and visiting professor (since 2006) at the Seminar für Klassische Philologie at the University of Heidelberg (Germany). She is since September 2022 Vice-Coordinator at IdeA-Institute for Advanced Studies at Unicamp. President of the SBEC - Sociedade Brasileira de Estudos Clássicos (2024-2025).
