Birthplace: Brazil

Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy (Taubaté University - UNITAU, 1992), Master's Degree in Production Systems (Ilha Solteira Engineering Faculty - FEIS, São Paulo State University - UNESP, 1999) and PhD. in Genetics and Plant Breeding (Jaboticabal Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences Faculty - FCAV, São Paulo State University - UNESP, 2003). Scientific Researcher at São Paulo Environmental Research Institute (IPA) since 2004, IPA General Director from 2012 through 2015, Conservation and Genetic Improvement of Tree Species Research Group Coordinator since 2006, reviewer of several scientific journals and, as a professor, teaches the following subjects (disciplines): Plant Genetic Resources Conservation (Agronomy Postgraduate Program at FEIS/UNESP) since 2008, and Tree Species Genetic Resources Conservation and Use (Renewable Resources Planning and Use Postgraduate Program, at UFSCar-Sorocaba) since 2014. I have experience in Forest Genetics Resources issues, as population genetics, quantitative genetics, forestry breeding, conservation genetics and molecular biology. I am interested in investigating seed and pollen contemporary dispersal processes, genetic isolation, reproductive systems and intrapopulational spatial genetic structure in tree species populations, located in forest fragments, by using molecular markers. I am also interested in developing seed collection methods to install orchards, ex situ genetic conservation and environmental recovery, in addition to progenies and provenances selection through exotic and native tree species breeding programs, on integrated, agroforestry and agrosilvopastoral systems. I have already published research in native species economic viability, when installed in consortium, with forest and economic importance species, to generate multiple products and income diversity during production, besides keeping environmental heterogeneity and plant genetic resources conservation in Cerrado Biome. I also researched with development of management practices and processes, in order to ensure Virola surinamensis natural populations genetic diversity maintenance and genetic resources conservation, aiming at their non-timber products sustainable use, along riparian communities in Pará State Amazon Biome.
