Bachelorer and Licentiate in Biological Sciences from the State University of Campinas (1987); Master's Degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology (1992) and Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology (1997), both from the Institute of Biology at the State University of Campinas; and post-doctorate by the Tropical Research and Technology Foundation André Tosello (2000). Currently, level A researcher at the Pluridisciplinary Center for Chemical, Biological and Agricultural Research at UNICAMP, coordinator of the Microbial Resources Division, facilitator in the CPQBA Quality System, responsible for maintaining accreditation in the ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 17025 standard of the Brazilian Collection of Micro-organisms of Environment and Industry and member of the Special Studies Committee on Biotechnology (ABNT/CEE-276). Professor of the Post-Graduate Course in Genetics and Molecular Biology (IB / UNICAMP) and advises master's and doctoral students. Projects in microbial taxonomy and systematics for characterization, identification and description of novel species of bacteria; applied microbiology aiming at prospecting secondary metabolites with biotechnological potential for application in agriculture and pharmaceuticals and imicrobial biodiversity under the aspect of the structural organization of genomes.
