She has a Degree in Physical Therapy at the State University of Londrina - UEL, in 1991; Specialization in Respiratory Physical Therapy (1994) and in Physiology of Exercise (1995) at Federal University of Sao Paulo - UNIFESP. She completed her Master's Degree in Physical Therapy at the Federal University of São Carlos - UFSCar (2002) and also in Food and Nutrition at the State University of São Paulo - Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP (2003). She completed her PhD in Physical Therapy at the Federal University of São Carlos - UFSCar (2004) and the Post-Doctorade Fellow in the Pulmonary Function and Clinical Exercise Physiology Unit, Division of Respiratory Diseases, Department of Medicine, Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), São Paulo, Brasil in 2008. She has Specialization in Public Management (2011) at UFSCar and Hospital Management at Albert Einstein Hospital teaching and research center (2016). He was President of ASSOBRAFIR Regional SP (management 2010-2012) and is an alternate member of the current management. She was Vice Coordinator (2005-2007 and 2012-2013) and Coordinator of the Undergraduate Course in Physical Therapy at UFSCar (2007-2009). She was a member of the Institutional Committee for PIBIC and PIBITI-CNPq grants (2004-2010). Currently, she is a Full Professor at the Federal University of São Carlos and a research fellow at the IB-CNPq level. She was Area Editor of the Revista Brasileira de Fisioterapia (2012-2016) and she is a reviewer of several National and International Journals. She was Coordinator of Graduate Course of Physical Therapy (PPG-FT) at Federal University of Sao Carlos (2014-2016). She was Dean of Graduate Studies at UFSCar (from 11/2016 to 01/2021). She has experience in the field of Physical Therapy, with an emphasis on Cardiorespiratory Physical Therapy and Exercise Physiology. In relation to the research developed, she has focused her studies on understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms of exercise intolerance in numerous chronic cardiorespiratory diseases and their risk factors (obesity, hypertension, diabetes, coronary artery disease, heart failure, COPD and asthma ) and ways to improve the exercise capacity (different types of physical exercise and the adjuncts of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation) to restore functionality, exercise tolerance and consequently the quality of life these patients.
