Birthplace: Argentina

Graduated in Biochemistry from Facultad de Farmacia y Bioquímica from Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina (2003). PhD from the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology at the Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), studying the control of mRNA translation in neurons (2011). During his doctorate, he did an internship in Dr. Nahum Sonenberg's laboratory at McGill University in Montreal, Canada (2010). He held a post-doctorate at the A.C.Camargo Cancer Center (2015). He is currently Researcher II at the A.C.Camargo Cancer Center, São Paulo, and Advisor to the Graduate Program in Oncology at the Fundação Antônio Prudente. He is interested in studying changes in signaling pathways in tumors, with an emphasis on those that control the translation of mRNAs. He is currently developing the CRISPR/Cas9 technique for the generation of cell models for the study of signaling pathways and the effect of cancer-related mutations. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
