Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP). Instituto de Química (IQ)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Alyson Rogério Ribeiro became a professor of environmental sciences in 2021 at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Working at the Veterinary School, his research combines sanitary chemistry and ecotoxicology to assess the environmental impacts related to animal production (environmental monitoring, wastewater treatment, and nutrients recovery). Currently, he and his young research team in Belo Horizonte are working on the environmental risk assessment of veterinary pharmaceuticals, recovery of nutrients from animal wastewater in the scope of circular economy, and advanced treatment for water and wastewater. Ribeiro received his Ph.D. degree in Environmental and Analytical Chemistry at the University of Duisburg-Essen (2013-2017), in Germany. From 2018 to 2020, he expanded his research interest in risk assessment of pharmaceuticals, wastewater treatment, and advanced analytical chemistry (SPE-UHPLC-MS/MS) as a post-doc researcher at the Institute of Chemistry, University of Campinas, in Brazil.
