Carla Maris Machado Bittar graduated in 1994 in Agronomy from ESALQ/USP, obtained her Master of Science from the University of Arizona in 1997 and completed her PhD in Animal Science and Pastures also at ESALQ/USP in 2002. She is currently a professor of dairy cattle management and nutrition at the Department of Animal Science at ESALQ/USP. She coordinates both the extension group CCB (Clube de Criação de Calves) and the Animal Metabolism Research Group. Advises undergraduate and graduate students and conducts research on nutrition and metabolism of growing dairy cattle, with focus on the preweaning period. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
