Andrés Vercik was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1968. He received the B.S. degree in physics from the University of Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, in 1995 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from University of Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, in 2000. In 1998 was Visiting Researcher at University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy. From 2000 to 2003, he was Postdoctoral Researcher with the Photoluminescence and Transport Group at Federal University of São Carlos, São Carlos, SP, Brazil. From 1992 to 2004 he has lectured at University of Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Federal University of São Carlos, São Carlos, SP, Brazil. Since 2003, he has been a Professor at University of São Paulo, Pirassununga, SP, Brazil. His research interests include Device Physics, Microelectronics, Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials for Sensors and Biosensors, Synthesis of Nanomaterials, Tunneling, Transport Mechanisms in Disordered Media, and Electrical Properties of Nanostructured Materials. Currently he is Head of Basic Sciences Department of the Animal Science and Food Engineering College of the University of São Paulo, Pirassununga, Brazil. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
