Alan C. Pilon is a chemist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry at Universidade Estadual Paulista - IQ-UNESP-CAr. Graduated from the same institution in 2008, he holds a master's degree (2009-2011) and doctorate (2011-2015) also from IQ-UNESP with an emphasis on Organic Chemistry and Natural Products. He worked as a visiting researcher at the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation in Ardmore-USA (2013-2014), where he developed research in plant metabolomics. He worked as a visiting researcher at the University of Leiden (2013), using computational tools in plant metabolomics. He held a post-doctorate in Natural Products database development (NuBBEdb) at IQ-UNESP (2015-2016). He served as Substitute Professor at IQ-UNESP in the Department of Organic Chemistry in 2015. At FCFRP-USP he carried out post-doctoral research on Ecometabolomics in degraded and preserved areas of the Atlantic Forest (2016-2020). He served as a visiting researcher at Imperial College London, Ascot-England (2019-2020), working with studies on the evolution of secondary metabolism in angiosperms. He carried out a post-doctorate at UNB / FCFRP-USP (2020-2022) in the metabolomic and larvicidal study of species from the Atlantic Forest to combat Aedes aegypti. He worked as a researcher at Startup Lychnoflora, in project management and process flow mapping. He is guest editor of Revista Virtual de Química (RVq-SBQ), has 37 publications (Google Scholar h-index: 14), 3 editorial, 4 book chapters and 10 awards, with emphasis on the Young Investigator in Plant Metabolomics in the edition of international congress of the metabolomics society held in Washington-USA, 2012. Works in the area of Chemistry of Natural Products of Brazilian biodiversity with emphasis on ecometabolomics, development of analytical and computational tools for the elucidation of compounds, mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance, ecology chemistry and natural product libraries. He was a volunteer as a scientific popularizer (JP-Conecta and Boletim SBQ) by the Young Researchers of the Brazilian Society of Chemistry (JP-SBQ-2019-2022). Co-founder of the Community "Rede Metabolomica", an international group for debate, sharing and mobilization in Metabolomics. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
