Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras de Ribeirão Preto (FFCLRP)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Ph.D. in Physics Applied to Medicine and Biology (2015) and B.Sc. in Medical Physics (2009) from the University of São Paulo. From 2013-2014, he developed part of his Ph.D. research at Harvard University, receiving support from the Lemann Fellowship program to work with the production of core-shell nanoparticles for ionizing radiation dosimetry by Optically Stimulated Luminescence and Scintillation. In 2016, he received the Young Scientist Award from the International Solid State Dosimetry Organization and Honorable Mentions in the Best Thesis Awards from the Brazilian Society of Physics and the Brazilian Federal Agency for Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). From 2016-2017, he held a postdoctoral position at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, working with microfluidic systems for the controlled production of scintillating quantum dots. During this period, he was contemplated in the CAPES-USP Public Notice for a tenure-track faculty position at the Department of Physics from the University of São Paulo (USP). In 2022, he received the Fulbright Junior Faculty Member Award for working as Visiting Professor at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Medical School. In the same year, he was selected for the Global Research Mentorship Program (GREMP) in Medical Physics of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM). Currently, he is a Professor at the Department of Physics-USP, teaching for the Bachelor of Medical Physics and the Graduate Program in Physics Applied to Medicine and Biology. In addition, he advises graduate students from the same program on the use of nanotechnology and its tools to understand and optimize the detection and delivery of ionizing radiation doses to enhance the radiotherapeutic ratio.
