Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Biology, and holds a Master's and a Ph.D. in Sciences (Area of Concentration: Veterinary Parasitology) from UFRRJ - Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro. During the Ph.D., was selected as a "Nota 10" Scholar by the Research Support Foundation of the State of Rio de Janeiro - FAPERJ. Completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Universidade Estadual Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP Campus Botucatu, with a scholarship provided by the Research Support Foundation of the State of São Paulo - FAPESP. Worked as a researcher for the Research Support Foundation of the State of São Paulo - FAPESP and currently works as a researcher for the Research Support Foundation of the State of Alagoas - FAPEAL and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). Also a member of the Brazilian Association of Pathologists of Aquatic Organisms - ABRAPOA. Is a professor and researcher in the Professional Master's Program in Environmental Systems Analysis at Centro Universitário CESMAC, while also teaching in the undergraduate course in Veterinary Medicine. Currently involved in projects related to socio-environmental issues within the scope of the Professional Master's Program. Currently holds an affiliation with the Animal Sciences Graduate Program at UFAL - Universidade Federal de Alagoas, mentoring Master's students and with expertise in the areas of Ecology and Taxonomy of fish parasites, as well as studies involving microparasites of aquatic organisms and their importance in the environmental context and the health of aquatic organisms in the coastal and inland waters of Brazil. Also a full member of the Management Committee of the Hydrographic Basin of the Mundaú and Manguaba Lagoon Estuarine Complex (CELMM), representing Centro Universitário CESMAC.
