Dirceu Mattos Jr is a researcher at the Agronomic Institute (IAC), has experience in Agronomy, with an emphasis on Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition, experienced on stress physiology, plant nutrition, use and efficiency of nutrients in agriculture, soil fertility management, fertilizers, rootstocks and fruit quality. His work has guided recommendations for the nutritional management of citrus to increase productivity and quality of orchards. Graduated in Agricultural Engineering at Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1990), Master in Soil and Plant Nutrition at the University of São Paulo (1993) and PhD in Soil and Water Sciences at the University of Florida (USA) (2000). He was Coordinator of the Agrarian and Veterinary Area at the São Paulo Research Foundation (Fapesp) (2009-2018) and President of the International Society of Citriculture (2013-2016). He is currently a member of the International Plant Nutrition Council (IPNC) and the council of the Agricultural Research Support Foundation (Fundag) and Director of the Sylvio Moreira Citrus Research Center(IAC).
