Thaís holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Paulista State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (2009) and a doctorate (2016) in Ecology and Natural Resources from the Federal University of São Carlos. She completed postdoctoral studies at the Laboratory of Ficology - UFSCar (2017). Experience in morphological taxonomy, molecular phylogeny and phylogeography of freshwater green microalgae (Selenastraceae); cultivation and axenia of freshwater microalgae; chemotaxonomy of freshwater microalgae.
