João Renato C. Muniz is a professor at the São Carlos Institute of Physics (IFSC) at the University of São Paulo (USP). He holds a bachelor's degree and a bachelor's degree in Physics from the Paulista State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" - UNESP, Rio Claro (2000), Master's Degree in Biomolecular Physics - Protein Crystallography from São Carlos Institute of Physics University of São Paulo (2003) , Ph.D. in Biomolecular Physics - Crystallography of Proteins by the Institute of Physics of São Carlos University of São Paulo (2007) and PhD in Protein Crystallography and Molecular Modeling at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Cambridge, UK (2006). Post-doctorate in Protein Crystallography at the Institute of Physics of Sao Carlos (2008) and Post-doctoral Scientist at the Structural Genomics Consortium of the University of Oxford, UK (2008-2012). He was a Young Researcher at the IFSC / USP in the Molecular Biotechnology Group. He has experience in Physics, Protein Crystallography, X-ray Diffraction, Structural Biology, Structural Biochemistry, Molecular Modeling and obtaining crystalline complexes linked to drugs/fragments for the development of new drugs.
