(Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Currently works as Assistant Professor at Center of Nuclear Energy in Agriculture (CENA), University of Sao Paulo (USP) in Piracicaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil. His scientific focus areas are plant nutrition and isotope techniques (e.g., 15N and 13C ) related to assessment of nutritional plant status, water and nutrient use efficiency. He has been studying mineral nutrition of plants, especially focusing on nutritional physiology of crop yields and nutrient uptake efficiency, ion uptake kinetics and nutrients long distance transport (root-to-shoot translocation). In parallel, hes been involved in some research projects aimed at unraveling, on the one hand, the physiological roles of nutrients on tolerance to water stress and the other to cope with heavy metal-induced stress.
