Forestry Engineer graduated from the University of Brasília (1990), registered with the Regional Council of Egineering and Agronomy/DF. MSc in Wood Sicence and Technology from the University of São Paulo / Institute of Technological Research of the State of São Paulo - IPT (1994). PhD in Chemical Engineering form the State University fo Campinas (1997). From 1994 to 1998, he worked at Votorantim Celulose e Papel (now Fibria) where he performed several activties, from operation and control of the fiber line, design and implementation of wood quality program form industrial use, pulp production, process and product development and technical support to the commercial area (internal and external market). Professor at the University of São Paulo (2005). Between 2000 and 2001 he attended a postdoctoral program at the Institute of Paper Science and Technology of the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, USA) in the area of simulation of modfied pulping process. In 2013, he carried out a postdoctoral program at the Forest Biomaterials Department of North Carolina State University (Raleigh, USA) in the area of mathematical modeling of pulping and biorefinery processes. In the period between 2003 and 2009, he was, respectively, Vice-Coordinator and Coordinator of the Master and PhD Program in Forest Resources, and at the end of his program it reached the level 5 of CAPES (highest among forestry programs in the period). He has experience in Forest Resources, Forest Engineering and Forest Products Technolog, Innovation and Intellectual Property with emphasis on pulp, paper and biorefinery technology., working mainly on the following topics: pulp, pulping, bleaching, wood quality and biorefinery. He was the advisor of 51 technical level trainees, 89 scientific initiation students, 12 conclusion undergraduate projects, 2 monographs of specialization programs, 23 masters dissertations and 3 PhD thesis in the areas of Forest Products Technology, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Currently, he is the advisor of 9 students of scientific iniciation, 2 dissertation of master ans 4 thesis of PhD. He has publisched 55 articles in national and international scientific journals. He has published 56 full papers in events proceedings. Editor-in-Chief of Scientia Forestalis and member of the editorial board of 17 national and international journals. Technological Development Productivity Scholar and Inovative Extension from CNPq (2010/2013 and 2014/2017). Member of the Brazilian Technical Association of Pulp and Paper - ABTCP, Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industry - TAPPI and American Chemical Society - ACS.
