Mechanical Engineer by The University of São Paulo-USP (1987), MSc. by the same University (1991), PhD in Mechanical Engineering by The University of Birmingham School of Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering-UK (1995), Visiting Professor at McMaster University- Canada (2005). Currently, is the Professor of Metal Cutting at the Sao Carlos School of Engineering, Department of Production Engineering. Has experience in Mechanical Engineering, focusing on Machining and Forming Processes, with interest in metal cutting, Grinding, HSM, FEM and Supervisory Systems for metalworking industries.
