Paulo Roberto Gonçalves Segundo has a doctoral degree in Philology and Portuguese Language (2011) from the Faculty of Philosophy, Languages and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo. His bachelor's degree has been obtained in the same university (2005). He has experience in the field of Linguistics, especially in Text and Discourse theories, researching mainly in terms of Critical Discourse Studies, Systemic Functional Linguistics and Conversation Analysis, and in the interface between language and cognition, with emphasis in Cognitive Semantics. The professor is a reseracher in the following thematic projects: "The History of the Paulista Portuguese " and "The History of Brazilian Portuguese". He coordinates the "Center of Studies in Critical Discourse Analysis" (NEAC-USP) and is a member of the following research groups: "Studies in Language, Argumentation and Discourse" (ELAD) and "USP Discourse Studies Group" (GEDUSP). both certified by CNPq. Besides that, he is one of the editors of the "Electronic Journal of Integrated Studies in Discourse and Argumentation" (EID&A). Finally, he is also a member of ANPOLL's groups on "Linguistics and Cognition" and "Argumentation". Paulo Roberto Gonçalves Segundo is adjunct professor in Philology and Portuguese Language in the Faculty of Philosophy, Languages and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo.
