Prof. Dr. Matheus de Souza Gomes has a degree in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (2005), a Masters and PhD in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Molecular Biology (2008) and a Doctoral Internship at the National University of Ireland - Galway - Laboratory of Genetics and Biotechnology - Center for Chromosome Biology under the supervision of Professor Dr. Charles Spillane. He was Professor of Biochemistry at the Federal University of Ouro Preto in 2011 and 2012. He is currently Assistant Professor III at the Institute of Biotechnology and Rector's Advisor at the Federal University of Uberlândia. He was Coordinator of the Biotechnology Undergraduate course between 2012 and 2015 and Coordinator of the Biotechnology Postgraduate Program in 2016 and 2017 of the same Institution. He is a permanent Professor at the Postgraduate Programs in Genetics and Biochemistry (PPGGB - UFU) and Biotechnology (PPGBIOTEC - UFU). He lectures disciplines for the undegraduation and Post-graduation courses as Structural Biochemistry, Metabolic Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics. He has experience in the areas of Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Genetics and Biochemistry. Currently, he is CNPq researcher level 2 and Coordinator of the Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Molecular Analysis (LBAM) of the Institute of Biotechnology of UFU Campus Patos de Minas.
