Filipe Silva has a doctoral degree in Biotechnology from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) with a split-site doctoral internship (2019 2020) at Harvard Medical School, in Boston-USA, through the CAPES-Print Program. He also owns master's (2015 2017) and bachelor's (2009-2015) degrees in Biotechnology by UFBA, with a split-site undergrad period at Brock University, Canada. During his time abroad in Canada, he also performed an internship at Norgen Biotek -Canada ( in 2014. During the internship periods in the USA and Canada, Filipe earned a background in the development of diagnostic of infectious diseases, biosensor devices based on CRISPR, manufacturing of microchips using microfluidics, and integration of diagnostic devices with artificial intelligence-inspired mobile applications. In addition, during his master's and doctoral periods at UFBA, he developed systems based on synthetic biology for the optimized production of recombinant proteins of biotechnological interest.
