José Agnello Alves Dias de Andrade

Since 2007 acts as an associate researcher for the USP Urban Anthropology Nucleus (NAU-USP Núcleo de Antropologia Urbana da USP) Laboratory, where coordinated the Urban Ethnology Group (GEU - Grupo de Etnologia Urbana) until 2018. Acted as a collaborator researcher for the USP Amerindian Studies Centre (CESTA-USP - Centro de Estudos Ameríndios da USP), for the Rural and Urban Studies Centre (CERU-USP - Centro de Estudos Rurais e Urbanos) and for the Nucleus of Study and Research in Amazonian Environments of the State University of Amazonas. (NEPAM-Parintins/AM - Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Ambientes Amazônicos da Universidade Estadual do Amazonas). Has experience as a researcher in the human sciences field, having taken part in projects for different laboratories and research centres with varied methodologies, themes and objectives. Has experience in quantitative, qualitative, documental and field research, with emphases to the use of ethnographic method, qualitative data analysis and the development of collaborative projects with participatory methodologies along with traditional people. Holds a bachelor degree in Social Sciences (2008), a Master?s degree (2012) and Doctorate?s Degree (2018) by the University of São Paulo. Has experience in the anthropology field, with emphases to urban anthropology and Indigenous ethnology. The main themes of interest are: mobility practices anthropology, indigenous trajectories, interface in between cities and indigenous villages in the Brazilian amazon and indigenous dwelling modalities in city context.
