Undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering from USP (1980), Master in Mechanical Engineering from USP, with a theme on Production Planning and Control (1983) and a Dr.-Ing. in Production Systematization at WZL RWTH Aachen, as a theme on Computer Process Planning, CAPP (1988). He became a Free Lecturer at USP with a thesis on CAPP (1992) and Full Professor at USP in Manufacturing Integration (1995). Professor at the São Carlos School of Engineering (EESC) at USP since 1982. Senior professor at the Department of Production Engineering since 2019. He was invited professor in 1995 by WZL Aachen, Germany, to develop STEP specifications. Invited professor in 2003 at the University from Missouri, USA, to work on the SAP project to apply the mySAP PLM system. Visiting professor at German-Vietnamese University (VGU) since 2019. Co-author of the book Product Development Management: a reference for improving the process. This book has been adopted as a reference by several educational institutions and companies. Co-author of the book Business Process Management, BPM (business process management): a reference for practical implementation. This book was adopted by ABEPRO (Brazilian Association of Production Engineering) to be part of the collection of recommended books. Founder of the Advanced Manufacturing Center (NUMA). Member of the Integrated Engineering Group (GEI2) of NUMA. He currently works in the area of innovation management, servitization and design of product-service systems (PSS: product-service system), product lifecycle management (PLM: product lifecycle management), innovation planning (FEI: front-end of innovation), business process management and modeling (BPM: business process management) and DfE: design for environment.He has already trained 72 graduate students (53 masters and 19 doctors) and supervised 6 post-doctors.He made 501 publications (116 in journals; 3 books; 41 book chapters; 308 full articles in congresses; 33 abstracts in congresses).
