Universidade de Mogi das Cruzes (UMC). Campus da Sede Mogi das Cruzes. Pró-Reitoria Acadêmica  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Holds a bachelor's degree in Biomedicine from the University of Mogi das Cruzes (2000), a Master's degree in Biotechnology from the University of Mogi das Cruzes (2004) and a PhD in Biological Sciences (Molecular Biology) from the Federal University of São Paulo (2008). He is currently professor at level 1 of the University of Mogi das Cruzes and researcher at the University of Mogi das Cruzes. Our team studied the in vivo and in vitro effect of Metacaspases, which are proteolytic enzymes involved in programmed cell death (apoptosis) in unicellular organisms such as yeasts, protozoa and fungi. We performed cloning and site mutations aimed at chemical, physicochemical and structural characterization of these enzymes. We also evaluated the in vivo effect of Saccharomyces cerevisiae metacaspase, through immunofluorescence techniques, flow cytometry, among others using a model knocked out of this yeast for the metacaspase gene.
