Cláudia Fontana

Doctor in Biology: diversity and management of wildlife by Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS), with a sandwich period at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Master in Environmental Engineering by Fundação Universidade Regional de Blumenau (FURB), Bachelor in Biological Science by Universidade do Oeste de Santa Catarina (UNOESC) and graduated in Biology from CLARETIANO Centro Universitário. She has a specialization in Natural Resource Management from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUC-PR) and in Teaching in Higher Education from the National Service for Commercial Learning (SENAC). She operates in the areas of environmental licensing, forest ecology, recovery of degraded areas, implementation and management of ecological trails. She is dedicated to research in Plant Ecology and Botany, in the areas of Dendrochronology and Wood Anatomy. She worked as a substitute professor of Biology at the Catarinense Federal Institute (IFC), Luzerna campus (2019-2020). Currently, she develops postdoctoral research at the University of São Paulo - Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz" USP/ESALQ using dendrochronology and X-ray densitometry to understand the effect of climate on the growth of tropical and subtropical trees.
