Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Química de São Carlos (IQSC)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Undergraduate student of chemistry (bachelors degree) at University of São Paulo (USP) since 2017, currently Leandro is developing a project in the field of inorganic chemistry, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of fluorophosphoniobate glasses using different inorganic matrices focused on the structural and optical study of the glasses, also using rare earth ions as dopant (such as Yb, Eu and Sc) to spectroscopic studies, advisored by Professor Danilo Manzani and co-advisored by Professor Marcos de Oliveira Júnior. He joined the program "MITACS Globalink Research Internship" in 2019, being part for 12 weeks of an active research group in the engineering physics area, focused on the deposition of thin films of silicon with rare earths for photonic applications, in the McMaster University, Hamilton - Ontario (Canada), with professor Dr. Peter Mascher as advisor. Leandro was grant Honorable Mention for the presentation oh his scientific initiation project (funded by FAPESP between 2019 and 2021) at the international stage of the 28 International Symposium on Scientific and Technological Initiation of the University of São Paulo (SIICUSP) and then being invited for presenting his project at the National Journey of Scientific Initiation (JNIC) during the 73 annual meeting of the Brazillian Society for the Science Progress (SBPC).
