Graduated from the Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from the State University of Southwest Bahia (UESB), Vitória da Conquista campus. Master and Doctor in Biological Sciences (Genetics) from the State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (UNESP) of Botucatu-SP. During the Master's I worked with pre-breeding and genetic improvement of passion fruit and citrus, respectively, working in the fields of Molecular Biology, Phytopathology, Genetic Mapping, Gene Expression and Plant Physiology. During the PhD, I worked with some plant mutant genes called UCPs (mitochondrial uncoupling proteins) in Arabidopsis thaliana, which are associated with mitochondrial energy metabolism and oxidative stress in plants, expanding the fields of research in genetics and bioinformatics, such as plant transformation and transcriptome as well as metabolome analysis.
