My research involves understanding the changing processes of the Earth's surface, emphasising soil erosion. I use artificial intelligence, machine learning algorithms and drones to identify patterns of changes on the ground surface. Furthermore, I use field measurements of active processes through digital photogrammetry using structure-from-motion algorithms to facilitate the generation of 3D models of the ground surface from photographs obtained from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in time-lapse imagery. Other areas of interest include applying thermal and multispectral cameras in precision agriculture. I am a researcher member of the Cotton Solos project, a partnership between the UN, Brazil and Africa, working in the aerial mapping of African cities through images obtained by UAV for conservation purposes of land use planning and vegetation classification to generate use maps. I am currently a researcher at the Instituto Agronômico de Campinas, with a postdoctoral fellowship from FAPESP, working on using multispectral images obtained by UAVs for precision agriculture. I was selected for the position of researcher/professor at the University of Missouri (USA) in the field of Remote Sensing, where I will start on August 1, 2022. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
