Meirelles; research training under supervision of Dr. Joanna Poulton - University of Oxford, UK. Post-doctoral researcher at University of São Paulo. Currently is Associate Professor - Department of Genetics and Evolution, Federal University of São Carlos. He is interested in the study of female fertility and mitochondrial genetics in mice, cattle and humans. Towards that, his group undertake experiments based on the use of genetic modified animals as well as cultured primordial germ cells (PGCs), oocytes, embryos and stem cells.
