Birthplace: Índia

Dr. Silambarasan Anbumani holds a graduation in Physics with allied chemistry from Periyar university (2009), master's degree in Physics from Thiruvalluvar University (2012), and doctorate in Material Science from the technical Anna University (2017), India. He is currently a FAPESP post-doctoral research fellow at the Institute of Physics 'Gleb Wataghin' (IFGW) of the University of Campinas, Brazil since July 2018. His research projects explore advance materials with the focus of studying surface properties of functional materials for fabrication of smart biosensors to detect disease biomarkers and the investigation of biological systems. His research projects also explore the development of advanced materials with optical, dielectric, pyroelectric characteristics for optoelectronic device applications. He has experience in surface functionalization, biosensors for various disease biomarkers, biomaterial interface, crystal growth, and clean room wafer fabrication including micro/nanofabrication, nanoimprint lithography, and thin-film processes and familiarized with various advanced microscopic (Atomic Force Microscopy(AFM), Raman, Confocal microscopy) and surface characterization (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), Fluorescence microscopic) techniques. He is interested in the research and development of functional materials for the fabrication of smart biosensors and fundamental investigations on biological systems. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
