An archaeologist working on long-term indigenous history, he is currently investigating the correlations between the southern Amazonia and other parts of the South America lowlands. As researcher at the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology of the University of São Paulo, he has ongoing projects in the Brazilian Amazon and central Brazil, especially in research involving Amazonian shellmounds, ceramics, geoarchaeology, geoglyphs, indigenous archaeology, isotopic archaeology, remote sensing, and rock shelters. Between 2009 and 2013, he worked on archaeological heritage management at the National Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage and coordinated the National Register of Archaeological Sites in Brazil. He founded the Centre for Indigenous Archaeology at the University of Brasilia and since 2022 has been an courtesy assistant professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Florida. He has been a member of the Brazilian Archaeological Society since 2010, the Society for American Archaeology since 2013 and the World Archaeological Congress since 2016. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
