Matheus Colli-Silva holds an under-graduate degree as Bachelor and Licentiate in Biology from the University of São Paulo, Brazil (2017), a master's degree in Botany (2020) from the same institution, with an exchange period at the iDiv, the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research in Leipzig, Germany. Currently, he is a PhD student at the Institute of Biosciences of the University of São Paulo. His main scientific goal is to study how South American plant diversity is currently distributed, documented and recognized (scientifically and popularly), conducting research with biodiversity, biogeography and conservation, especially on the following topics: systematics of Malvaceae; wild cacao species; biodiversity informatics and data repositories; synthesis of biogeographical patterns.
