Carolina holds a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Economics from the Institute of Economics at the State University of Campinas (Fapesp Scholarship: 2016/13820-4). Since 2011, she has been a collaborating researcher at the Center for Agricultural Economics and the Environment at the State University of Campinas, and since 2022, she has been a collaborating professor and advisor in the postgraduate program in economics at the same institution. She received a FAPESP scholarship (2019/05278-3) for a period as a visiting researcher at the United Nations University (Netherlands) and recently a visiting research at University of California about public policy landscape for decarbonization potential of wetlands restoration in California (FAPESP 2023/08623-9).Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher at the State University of Campinas at the Interdisciplinary Center for Energy Planning with financial support from FAPESP (2020/16135-6). Carolina is also a member of the International Society for Ecological Economics. She contributed as a researcher to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) project on rural development. Since 2019, she has been a collaborating researcher in the European Union/Horizon2020 Program under the European Commission - Marie Sklodowska-Curie agreement (number 778398).She conducted research with Petrobrason renewable energy and sustainable transition. She conducted scientific studies for the Solidaridad group in Latin America and developed a study on sustainable integration of livestock, cocoa, and forests and greenhouse gas emissions for a local community in the Amazon Rainforest. She also conducted another study involving cooperation between Brazil, Ecuador, and Mexico on the well-being income of family cocoa producers e other research with Global Coffee Platform about climate resilience and coffe production.Carolina coordinated a project with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), funded by the One Planet Network Multi-Partner Trust Fund, on public policies for climate resilience in cities based on food systems. Search agendas include climate change and sustainable economic development; energy transition, bioeconomy and sustainability; climate vulnerability and food security; and low-carbon industrial transition.Carolina is also a researcher at the Fiocruz Center for Strategic Studies on the sustainable transition of the Unified Health System (SUS) from the Economic-Industrial Complex of Health.
