Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP). Campus de Araraquara. Faculdade de Ciências Farmacêuticas (FCFAR)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Leonardo holds a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy-Biochemistry from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Araraquara, at São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (FCFAr-UNESP). During his undergraduate studies, he focused his research on Cosmetic Technology, specifically on microstructured polymeric systems for topical application of antioxidants. Continuing his academic journey, he obtained a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2021, also from FCFAr-UNESP, with research focused on the development of functionalized lipid nanoparticles for the treatment of brain cancer. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the same institution, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Marlus Chorilli, with a focus on formulating thermoresponsive mucoadhesive hydrogels containing functionalized lipid nanoparticles for intranasal administration of chemotherapeutic agents in the treatment of brain cancer. His areas of interest encompass biomaterials, pharmaceutical technology, drug delivery, and in vitro and in vivo tumor models. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
