Patrícia Alves Ferreira

Patricia A. Ferreira is a PhD in Ecology (2013) at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Brazil, where she develops a thesis on the Effects of habitat loss on plant-pollinator interaction networks in fragmented landscapes of Atlantic Forest in Bahia, Brazil. In 2012, she accomplished a Doctoral Sandwich stage (PDSE-CAPES) in Naturalis - Biodiversity Center in Universiteit Leiden (Leiden, Netherlands) under the supervision of Dr. Jacobus C. Biesmeijer. In UFBA she obtained the Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences (2006) and Master in Ecology and Biomonitoring (2008). She collaborates with the Laboratory of Bees Biology and Ecology at UFBA under the coordination of Prof. Dra. Blandina Felipe Viana. She completed a Postdoctoral internship at the Postgraduate Program in Entomology, Department of Biology, Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo under the supervision of Prof.Dr. Danilo Boscolo between 2014 and 2020. Coordinated the Universal Project Plant-Polinator Interaction Networks in Heterogeneous Landscapes of the Atlantic Forest, funded by CNPQ. She is currently a substitute professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences at the Federal University of São Carlos - UFSCar, where she teaches the disciplines of environmental analysis and planning for students of the Bachelor's degree in Management and Environmental Analysis at UFSCar. She is interested in the areas of ecology, population and community ecology, landscape ecology, plant-pollinator interactions, and environmental management with special interest in the effects of natural and agricultural landscape changes on these interactions, analysis of complex networks and development of strategies to mitigate the negative effects of landscape changes and to promote the conservation and management of plant-pollinator interactions in tropical natural and agricultural environments.
