CV Lattes ORCID

Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP). Campus de Araraquara. Instituto de Química (IQ)  (Institutional affiliation for the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Bachelor in Chemistry from Regional Integrated University of High Uruguay and Missions (URI), Master in Chemistry from Paulista State University (UNESP), and PhD in Chemistry from UNESP and Engineering Science from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium. The research experience began with the development of palladium-based electrocatalysts for fuel cells during the master's degree. In the doctorate developed and characterized smart coatings prepared by the sol-gel route for corrosion protection. The expertise obtained include structural characterization techniques, surface and bulk of materials as well as conventional and localized electrochemical measurements. The current research interest includes the development of smart coatings, nanoparticles, hybrids and nanostructured materials. The characterization of these materials is systematically performed with spectroscopies, microscopies and X-ray diffraction and scattering techniques to probe their properties. Other applied studies include corrosion, electrochemical processes, sol-gel synthesis, organic-inorganic coatings and biocompatible films. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
