He received his Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the State University of Campinas in 2015, followed by his master's (2018) and doctoral (2021) degrees in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the same institution. Currently, he works as a Research Scientist at the Joint Genome Institute (JGI) in the United States, where he conducts research in the genomics of bacteria and their mobile genetic elements in natural ecosystems. His work involves the development of bioinformatics methods and the analysis of large-scale metagenomic data, aiming to elucidate the diversity of bacteriophages and plasmids, their evolution, and their interactions with bacterial hosts.
