Jéssica Cristiane Magalhães Ierich

Jéssica was born in Sorocaba, Brazil, in 1991. She received a B.Sc. degree in technology on biomedical systems from the Faculdade de Tecnologia de Sorocaba, Sorocaba, in 2011, and the Master's degree in Biotechnology and Environmental Monitoring from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), campus Sorocaba, in 2014. In 2012, she had the opportunity to study 3-D structures of proteins using homology modeling and molecular dynamics simulation. Also, she has studied the enzymatic inhibition process by herbicides for nanobiosensors applications. Her Ph.D. research at the Institute of Tropical Medicine of São Paulo (IMTSP) was focused on the description of antigen-antibody interaction using computational and theoretical approaches to detail some features of Multiple Sclerosis disease. Currently, she is part of the Laboratory of Theoretical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry from the Federal University of São Carlos, São Carlos, Brazil, in which she has developed her research on biorecognition processes of biological components and their interaction with nanomaterials using methods of equilibrium molecular dynamics, umbrella sampling, and chirality of nanomaterials.
