Dr Vera Camargo-Neves is Biomedical Graduate (1984) with specialization in Medical Entomology, the Pan American Health Organization (1992). She is Masters (1999) and Ph.D. (2004), Both accomplished in Public Health School of Public Health, University of Sao Paulo. Dr Camargo-Neves is a Senior Scientific Researche, working in applied research since 1992 in the Superintendency of Endemic Disease Control of Healthy Secretary of State of São Paulo. Her studies has had emphasis on epidemiology and control of diseases Transmitted by arthropods. She has been coordinates of the Study Group on Leishmaniasis Developing and since 1999 she has been coordinating research projects on leishmaniasis. This group development activities in human resources training and the strengthening of surveillance and control activities in the Municipalities and in the State. She had participated as a technical consultant and researcher of the team from the Center for Disease Control Center - CCD (2004 - 2008) and of the Epidemiological Surveillance "Professor. Alexandre Vranjac" (2008-2010), of the State Secretary of Health of São Paulo. Since 2003, Dr Vera Camargo-Neves is member of the team of technical consultants Coordination on Epidemiological Surveillance Ministry of Health of Brazil in the area of leishmaniasis and in 2011 from an advisory group composed of the Pan American Health Organization - PAHO, World Healyhy Organization - WHO. Dr Vera Camargo-Neves has large experience in Public Health with emphasis in Epidemiology in field studies. Currently she belongs to the team Consists of the Department of Epidemiology and Technical Guidance Sucen / SES-SP. She has been acting Mainly on epidemiological studies applied to the control of vector diseases, Especially leishmaniasis. Also she is acting in the management of special projects and control programs with emphasis on the control of zoonoses and vector-borne diseases and intermediate hosts.She is currently the main researcher of the Institutional Development Plan for Research and Technological Innovation-PDIP, supported by FAPESP, coordinating a team of 16 researchers that comprise six subprojects (2017-current date).
