Francisca Dantas Mendes

She is currently associate professor (2017) at USP-EACH ,a researcher at the Institute for Advanced Studies - IEA - USP 2020/21, postdoctoral (2016) in the design department of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo - FAU-USP, with the research project ?Fashion in the Textile Chain and its Environmental Issues?. Doctorate (2010) and Master's (2006) in Production Engineering from Universidade Paulista. Lato sensu (2003) in Fashion and Communication at Anhembi Morumbi University and graduated (1994) in the Higher Fashion Course at Anhembi Morumbi University. He was a professional in the textile sector in the areas of development and production process of fashion products (1980 to 2011) and ballet costumes (1980 to 2003). Conducts scientific research in the area of development and production process in the Manufacture of Fashion and Sustainable Clothing in the Textile and Clothing Chain, with publications of articles in congresses, chapters, and books. It carries out socio-environmental projects with people in extreme social vulnerability using textile waste as raw material. She is the leader of the CNPq research group ?Fashion in the Têxtile Chain? (2012) and coordinator of the Support Center for Research on Textile Sustainability and Fashion - NAP-SUSTEXMODA, with the Pro-rectory of USP. (2017) Works for a UNESCO culture of peace.
